Snowshoe Cat Breed
The Snowshoe is another breed created in the United States, and has sometimes also been known as Silver Laces. It combines the body length of the oriental cat with the solid bulk of the American Shorthair, the coat carrying Siamese points but with white paws, as in the Barman cal.
The white markings are superimposed on the Siamese point pattern, ankle high on the front paws and to just below the hock joints on the rear legs. These markings are complemented by a white inverted 'V' on the muzzle which ideally extends up Tithe Bridge of the nose with a thin line of white under the chin down to the chest and along the underbelly.
Developed mainly in the 1970s, it gained full recognition by the Cat Fanciers Federation (CFF) in 1982 and may also be shown with The International Cat Association (TICA), the American Cat Association (ACA), the American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA), the CA of Britain and in other Fife shows
