Foreign White Kitten Breed

This is a white cat of the same conformation as the Siamese but with no dark points. In the USA it is classed with the other Oriental Shorthairs but is given separate standard by the GCCF. This should be a beautifully balanced animal with head, ears and neck carried on along svelte body, supported on fine legs and feet with a long tail in proportion. The Foreign White was created by breeding Siamese with shorthaired white cats. Although blue-eyed cats, they do not carry a double dose of the dominant gene for white, with its associated risk of deafness, but have the color inhibiting gene which creates the Siamese point pattern. Similarly, although their nose leather, eye rims and paw pads are pink they are not albino — although some albino Siamese occur, which are usually known under the name Recessive White.

Long and slender, well-muscled and elegant, the rump carried higher than the shoulders; legs long and pro-fortunately slender with neat oval paws; tail long, tapering and whip like.

Long, wedge-shaped and well proportioned with width between the ears, narrowing in straight lines to a fine muzzle with a straight profile and strong chin. Ears large and pricked, wide at the base.

Oriental in shape and slanting towards the nose to match the line of the facial wedge. Clear brilliant blue, the deeper the better.

Short, fine-textured, glossy and close-lying.
